Chesapeake Ave, COB 307 Towson MD 21204 aoteyza@baltimorecountymd.gov US (410)887-2085 True April Oteyza The initial compilation was performed by Dewberry in 2012 who digitized off of as-built/design plans, focusing on storm drains within the URDL (Urban Rural Demarcation Line), while County staff collected features outside of the URDL with mapping grade GPS. Further compilation was performed by Maryland Environmental Service (MES) in 2016 to fill in the gaps outside of the URDL using design/construction drawings. Features were originally created within a geometric network however the geometric network was removed in 2017 to facilitate editing through Collector for ArcGIS. Features should still be created using the network connectivity rules (endpoints of line features are covered by point features, no floating points), just these rules are not currently enforced. The geometric network will be reestablished at a later date. Baltimore County Storm Drain Geodatabase underwent a schema redesign in 2019 for the Cityworks AMS implementation with the goals of creating reducing duplication, reconciling inconsistencies between layers and creating a common user experience. During this redesign, certain objects and fields were retired, added and/or modified. Lineage tables, condition tables, subtypes and the following fields were retired across all feature classes: X,Y coordinates, position sheet, watershed, subshed, work order ID, and model number. Feature specific attributes were also retired with agreement from data owners if unused or not maintained. Enterprise attributes and domains were established and added/modified where necessary. New enterprise attributes include location, maintained by, responsible agency, condition, condition data, warranty date, rehabilitation date, and rehabilitation type. Existing enterprise attributes include coordinate source, lifecycle status, owned by, install date and notes. Domains values were modified across all feature classes pursuant to Department goals. More information can be obtained from the Department of Public Works – GIS. Compilation Scale: 1" = 500' scale keysheets to surveys @ +/- 0.1 feet Compilation Methodology: Features in the Stormwater Network dataset were created and attributed from a variety of sources including: stormwater as-built construction plans, stormwater design plans, design and/or as-built plans from other design sections (e.g. roads, alleys, buildings, stormwater management facilities), keysheets at 1”=500’, mobile grade GPS, mapping grade GPS, survey grade GPS, orthophoto interpretation, and field investigation. See COORDINATE_SOURCE field. The stormwater network dataset is estimated to be 50% - 80% complete.
