Description: The historic streams feature class represents the hydrology data (blue plate – streams only) as shown on the historic United States Geological Survey (USGS) quadrangle topographic maps dating between 1892 and 1956. The 7.5 minute series was used for primary reference and consisted of the following quadrangles: Baltimore East – 1944, Baltimore West – 1944, Cockeysville – 1944, Ellicott City – 1944, Finksburg – 1944, Hampstead – 1944, Hereford – 1944, Lineboro – 1944, New Freedom – 1944, Norrisville – 1944, Phoenix – 1944, Reisterstown – 1944, Relay – 1944, Sparrows Point – 1944, Sykesville – 1944, Towson - 1944, Curtis Bay – 1946, Edgewood – 1949, Gunpowder Neck – 1949, Savage – 1950, Middle River – 1951, White Marsh – 1951, Jarrettsville – 1956. Older USGS maps (1892 – 1908) series were referenced for areas of development in the 7.5 minute series maps and consisted of the following quadrangles: Ellicott – 1892, Baltimore – 1894, Parkton – 1902, Baltimore – 1904, Westminster – 1905, Tolchester – 1908.
